Deconstructing Albion’s Item Value (IV) Formula: Predicting Black Market Ceilings
The Black Market uses an item's internal **Item Value (IV)** to calculate its initial offer price and to cap the maximum price it is willing to pay. Knowing the exact IV of an item allows you to predict its price ceiling before transporting it.
The Item Value Equation
The base Item Value is calculated using the item's tier, slot type, and enchantment level:
Base IV = SlotMultiplier * 16 * 3^(Tier - 4) * 2^Enchantment
Artifact offsets add static value depending on the artifact type (Rune +50, Soul +100, Relic +150, Avalon +200). High IV items have higher price ceilings on the Black Market but also incur higher listing fees and repair costs. Use ScanAlbion to track IV scales in real-time.
