Albion Market Tax & Setup Fee Breakdown: Premium vs Non-Premium Math

The Hidden Silver Drain: Taxes & Fees

Every commercial transaction on Albion Online's public markets is subject to setup fees and sales taxes. Many novice traders calculate their profit simply as Sell Price minus Buy Price, only to discover at the end of the week that their silver balance has decreased due to market fee decay.

In this guide, we dive deep into the exact mathematical formulas governing market fees and how to calculate your true net breakeven point across all transaction types.

Complete Fee Schedule

Market Setup Fee: 2.5% (Non-refundable, charged immediately upon order creation).

Market Sales Tax (Premium): 4.0% (Deducted upon successful trade completion).

Market Sales Tax (Non-Premium): 8.0% (Deducted upon successful trade completion).

Order Update Fee: 2.5% charged on the price difference when modifying active order prices.

Black Market Setup Fee: 0.0% (Zero upfront fee for Black Market sell orders!).

Breakeven Multiplier Formulas

To calculate the minimum sell price required to break even on an investment:

Premium Breakeven Factor = 1 / (1 - 0.04 - 0.025) = 1.0695 (+6.95% minimum markup)

Non-Premium Breakeven Factor = 1 / (1 - 0.08 - 0.025) = 1.1173 (+11.73% minimum markup)

Never list sell orders unless your gross spread clears these minimum thresholds!
