Albion Market Tax & Setup Fee Breakdown: Premium vs Non-Premium Math
In Albion Online, transaction taxes and setup fees can easily consume your profits if you fail to calculate them correctly. Let's break down the exact mathematics of market trading fee structures.
Market Transaction Fees & Taxes
Every time you list or sell an item on a public marketplace, the game deducts silver based on your Premium status:
- Listing/Setup Fee (Non-Refundable): **2.5%** of the item's listing price. Charged immediately when you place a sell order.
- Sales Tax (Premium Active): **4.0%** deducted from the final sale price upon transaction completion.
- Sales Tax (Premium Inactive): **8.0%** deducted from the final sale price upon transaction completion.
- Black Market Tax: **0%** sales tax! Yes, selling directly to Black Market buy orders incurs no sales tax, only a setup fee if you place sell orders. Selling directly (instant sell) incurs no fees at all.
Break-Even Math Formula
To ensure a flip is profitable, the sale price must exceed your purchase cost plus market fees:
Net Profit = SalePrice * (1 - TaxRate) - PurchasePrice - (SalePrice * ListingFeeRate)
If you have Premium and use sell orders on both sides, your total fee burden is **6.5%**. Always use ScanAlbion to filter out deals below this threshold.
